This page explains how to permanently delete your Talki Talki account and the personal information associated with it. Talki Talki is operated by Pandacat Inc., a Canadian corporation. You may request deletion at any time, and we handle every request in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and other applicable data-protection laws.
You can request that your account and data be deleted in either of the following ways:
To protect your account, we may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before processing a deletion request. There is no charge to delete your account.
Once your request is received and verified, we permanently delete the personal information we hold about you, including:
Deletion begins as soon as we receive and verify your request. Most data is removed immediately or within a few days. Complete removal of your data from all of our active systems and encrypted backups may take up to 14 days. Once the process is finished, your personal information cannot be recovered.
Talki Talki relies on trusted service providers to operate the Service, and some of them store and process data on servers located in the United States and other countries outside Canada. As a result, your information (including files, messages, voicemails, and recordings) may be stored or processed in the United States and may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, including lawful access requests by foreign courts, law enforcement, or government authorities. We take reasonable contractual, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information wherever it is processed. When you delete your account, deletion applies across these providers as described above.
In limited circumstances, we may retain certain information after your account is deleted only where we are required or permitted to do so by law — for example, billing, tax, and transaction records, records we must keep under applicable telecommunications regulations, and information reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or comply with a legal obligation. Any such information is kept only for as long as required and is then securely deleted.
Please note that messages you have already sent to other people, and any information you have shared with third parties, cannot be recalled or deleted from their systems by us.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. These rights are described in more detail in our Privacy Policy. If you have questions about deleting your account or exercising your privacy rights, contact us using the details below.
