## What the AI Receptionist does
- Answers business calls in under a second with a natural voice; callers can talk over it.
- Uses the business's own knowledge base and rules; never invents information.
- Speaks the caller's language (English, French, Spanish, Punjabi, Mandarin, Persian, and many more) and writes records in the business's language.
- Takes messages and callback requests (name, number, request).
- Can text the caller during the call (address, links, details) from the business number, with the caller's OK.
- Per-account limit on simultaneous AI calls (hold, then voicemail) to protect minutes from robocalls.
- Recordings and transcripts available in the dashboard; an AI Analyst can answer questions about past calls.

## Integrations (Receptionist API)
- Signed JSON webhooks (Zapier, Make, n8n, booking systems, CRMs): call.started, message.taken, text.sent, call.completed.
- Payload modes for privacy: minimal (ids/timing only, caller masked), standard (messages and outcomes), full (transcript).
- REST: list/get/erase calls, manage endpoints. Bearer API keys with scopes.

- Tools: any app can register tools (name, description, JSON Schema, HTTPS endpoint) that the AI calls during the call — check availability, book appointments, reserve tables, place orders, look up status. - Events include transaction.created when a tool books/orders/reserves.
